Rainbow Environmental Services
Mission Statement
We will maximize the long-term value of Rainbow for its employee owners by exceeding our customers' and partner communities' expectations. We will become recognized as the national leader in landfill diversion, recycling and near zero waste environmental solutions, while cultivating a work environment of safety, ethics and innovation.

Employee-Owned
Rainbow Environmental Services (Rainbow) is an employee-owned material collection and processing company that has been in business for over 50 years. Rainbow serves a host of communities in Orange County including: Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Sunset Beach, Surfside Colony, Westminster, Midway City, Costa Mesa, Irvine and Newport Beach. Rainbow has been a proud member of these communities, and we feel that we have not only been able to play an integral part of the areas we serve, but have been leaders and innovators within our industry for many years.

Rainbow's 17-acre campus is located in Huntington Beach, California. It is the site of our transfer station that is permitted to accept 4,000 tons per day. Our state-of-the-art single stream clean material recovery facility and several mixed waste processing stations were designed to efficiently handle various material streams such as green and wood waste, commercial and multifamily waste, and construction and demolition debris.

Innovation
Rainbow is proud of the efficiency of our facilities and the technical and mechanical skills of our employee owners. Many of the processes employed at Rainbow have been developed with in-house engineering. The combination of effective technology and in-house talent has resulted in our company receiving state recognition as a recycling leader which has assisted our community partners to achieve and exceed State diversion mandates.

Good Neighbor Policy
As a longstanding member of the communities we serve, Rainbow takes pride in and cares about being a good neighbor and partner. Accordingly, Rainbow implements innovative and environmentally safe solutions to minimize operational impacts on our neighbors such as onsite storm water runoff treatment, nuisance bird abatement using hawks and proactive and ongoing dust and odor control.

Environment
Rainbow is committed to being a good corporate environmental steward. Understanding the importance of the environment, Rainbow supports community and environmental organizations and programs that preserve, protect and enhance our natural resources. Environmental organizations have recognized Rainbow's environmental commitment. In 2007 and 2008, Rainbow was awarded the California Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Action Leader Award for reducing its green house gas emissions. In 2008, the Orange County League of Conservation Voters recognized Rainbow as the Environmental Business of the Year. Additionally, in 2008, the Bolsa Chica Conservancy honored Rainbow as the Friend of the Conservancy.

Healthy and Clean Communities
Rainbow Environmental Services takes pride in enhancing clean and healthy communities by helping to make them better places to live and work. We assist our neighbors and civic organizations to meet that goal by providing materials, waste and recycling containers and support for neighborhood and special clean-ups as well as for charitable and civic events such as the Huntington Beach Fourth of July Parade, Taste of Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley Summerfest, Orange County Barbeque and Westminster Tet Parade and Moon Festival.

Civic Engagement
Strong and sustainable civic and charitable organizations are the leading indicator of a healthy community. As an active member of the community, Rainbow is committed to supporting the many worthy civic and charitable organizations throughout the communities we serve. In addition, several of Rainbow's executives volunteer their personal time to serve on community foundations and boards such as Coastline and Golden West Community College Foundations and the Huntington Beach Environmental Board, as well as service organizations such as Rotary, Kiwanis, and Soroptimists' International of Huntington Beach. We believe community service is a corporate and personal responsibility.
